Marshawn always arrived into the classroom with a whirlwind effect. His bright smile and teasing never failed to produce laughter in return. Although I only knew him for such a brief period as a teacher at Southeast Career Pathways this last year, his heart and wit will not be forgotten. I remember reading poetry aloud with him so he could hear the subtleties of its beat and his easy way of feeling the cadence of rhythm. It seems just a moment ago that he was throwing his arm over my shoulder and retelling his spring vacation in New York. He was such a kind young gentleman and he related his aspirations with a real hunger to achieve. His charisma, kind heart, and personality are surely a loss to this world now that he has moved on to a greater place. He will be missed more than he probably ever realized. -- Miss Murphy
