I meet Marshawn when he was probably only 11yrs old!Marshawn&my little brother Pierre...were best friends!He was such a wonderful person in all ways despite the path of life that chose him.!They would always hang together&i remember telling them everytime don't go looking for trouble ya'll are so much better then that mess!that would laugh or grin with there sneaky smile..lol,the moment they left my eye sight I began to pray that angels lead them along their way!when my little brother Pierre life took a turn that landing him in prison!Marshawn would always say don't worry sis you still got ME when you want to hug him,hug me!Around that time Marshawn&i bound became so close he would come&talk to me about his girlfriends&other problems he had with guyz whom were jealous of him!&i would say bro please just leave that mess along I can't take no more I need you&he would always reply"awww sis iam I'm just tryn to get my money"&i would say okay Marshawn if you can avoid that mess walk away its not worth it!I moved to florida,Marshawn&i still stayed intouch one. Month before his death he called me about a girl problem&told me he had a baby on the way I was so happy for him,I gave him some spiritual advise&wordz &told him I love him&to be safe!iam so very blessed&honored to have known such a wonderful soul inside of a beautiful young man!may his soul rest in paradise &live on forever!I will always love you lil bro!!

Marshawn always arrived into the classroom with a whirlwind effect. His bright smile and teasing never failed to produce laughter in return. Although I only knew him for such a brief period as a teacher at Southeast Career Pathways this last year, his heart and wit will not be forgotten. I remember reading poetry aloud with him so he could hear the subtleties of its beat and his easy way of feeling the cadence of rhythm. It seems just a moment ago that he was throwing his arm over my shoulder and retelling his spring vacation in New York. He was such a kind young gentleman and he related his aspirations with a real hunger to achieve. His charisma, kind heart, and personality are surely a loss to this world now that he has moved on to a greater place. He will be missed more than he probably ever realized. -- Miss Murphy

As I just met Marshawn about 7 months ago, as a tutor for Southeast Career Pathways,he shared with me a piece of him. His smile and how he told me the way his mother would say his name when she was unhappy with a decision that he would make that wasn't up to her approval. She would drag the last part of his name, something like-Marshaaaawwwwnn. I quickly pick that up and greeted his daily with that as he hugged me and said,"Awwww,Ms.J". I surely hate that he is gone but now he no longer has the worries of "man"harrassing him. He is truly FREE. God bless his family. Ms.J
