Ernest departed this life on February 10, 2018 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was preceded in death by his father and 2 sisters; Patricia Johnson and Sandra Bowen.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Melita Travis Johnson, 1 son; Arian Davidson Johnson, his mother; Marion McKeever, 2 brothers; Walter L. Johnson (Helen) and Andrew "Amon" Johnson, 1 sister; Roylin McKeever and a host of other family and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave. SE, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Brown Hutcherson Ministries, 618 Jefferson Ave. SE, at 11:00 AM. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to services at 10:00 AM.
