Obituary for Clemmie S Montgomery

Clinnie Montgomery, age 104, was born February 6, 1912 in Carthage, Mississippi to Willie and Betty Slaughter.

Clinnie departed this life on February 1, 2017 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; James Montgomery, 7 sons; Loarckheart, Dan, Freddie, Julius, James and Walter Montgomery, 1 daughter; Delores Bass, 1 brother; Levon Slaughter and 3 sisters; Ruby Miller, Mary McClung and Theardies James.

She leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters; Carrie Coleman, Katherine Paschal and Barbara Gipson, 1 son; David (Belinda) Montgomery, and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, great great great grandchildren, great great great great grandchildren and other family and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Ivy K Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave SE, from 1-5 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 510 Franklin SE, at 11:00 AM. Friends can meet with the family one hour prior to services at 10:00 AM.
