Lee Girtha Walker, age 81, was born May 3, 1935 in Merigold, Mississippi to the late George and Mary Spears.

Lee departed this life on January 23, 2017 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Clinton Walker, Sr., 1 daughter; Bertha Broden, brothers; Clinton Spears, George Spears, Jr., Eddie Willis, Moses Brisbon, Joseph Brisbon, Henry Brisbon, Fred Brisbon and Alexander Brisbon, sisters; Francis Olivia Spears-Buckner, Bertha L. Spears, Earnestine Price, Georgia Hampton, and Henriella Brisbon.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons; Clinton Walker, Jr., Quinton Walker, Dardell Simmons, Tyrone (Nellie) Walker, and son/nephew Frank Buckner, daughters; Terri (Antoine) Gordon, Debra Walker-Patton, Lessie Walker, Cynthia Robinson and Cherylynn Thomas, brother; Edward Brisbon, sister; Barbara Spears, 30 grandchildren that loved her dearly, 44 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave. SE, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at New Community Church, 2340 Dean Lake NE, at 11:00 AM. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to services at 10:00 AM.
