John William Russell, age 51, was born October 12, 1964 to Allen and Sara Russell in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

John departed this life on July 27, 2016 and was preceded in death by his mother; Sara Russell.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father; Allen Russell, his daughter; Chaunte Russell, brother; Allen F. Russell, sister; Jusselyn Y. Newland (Bill) and host of other family and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Ivy K Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave SE, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August 5, 2016 at Living Word Christian Center, 1534 Kalamazoo, at 12:00 PM. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to services at 11:00 AM.
