Harold went to be with his lord on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his father; Frank Hitchcock, his mother; Dorothy Hitchcock, his wife; Leoma Hitchcock, 2 brothers; Malcolm Hitchcock, and Robert Hitchcock, and 2 sisters; Alma Davis, and Claudia Hitchcock.
He leaves behind his legacy to 2 sons; Alan Armstrong, and Jerry Hitchcock, 2 daughters; Deborah Townsend, and Denise (Jerry) Bishop, 2 brothers; Johnnie Hitchcock, and Paul Hitchcock, 2 sisters; Mary Sue Jobe, and Martha Ann Boyd, 25 grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Public visitation will be held Monday, February 04, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Ivy K Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Avenue SE. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, February 05, 2019 at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, 513 Henry Avenue SE, at 11:00 AM. Friends may meet with the family a hour prior to services at 10:00 AM.
