Lucille went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 27, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband; Ellis Shumpert. She leaves behind her legacy to 1 son; Leonard C. Riley, 1 sister; Josephine Johnson, 2 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Lucille was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. She was the oldest member. Lucille loved traveling and stayed on the go. She loved gardening, Sewing, and was full of life and energy.
Public visitation will be held on Thursday, January 03, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ivy K Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Avenue SE. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 04, 2019 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 510 Franklin Street SE, at 11:00 AM. Friends may meet with the family a hour prior to services at 10:00 AM.
