Amara feel asleep in death on Friday, February 22, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her mother: Helen Jones, one brother: Craig Jones, one sister: Karenga Deipstra and one grandchild.
She leaves behind her legacy to her husband: Darren Slaughter, Father: Calvin Jones, six sons: Lavar Pureifoy, Calvin Pureifoy, Eric Purifoy, Erin Pureifoy, Derrick Fields and Darren Fields, two daughter: Calvina Pureifoy and Kaluna Pureifoy- Stewart- Wilson, one brother: Jordan Jones, four sisters: Charlotte Kilgore, Octavia LaBlanc, Nivlac Wilson and Shanova Jones, 20 grandchildren, one great grandchild and extended family: Robin Evans, Angela Moore, Latoya King and Irving Richardson, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Family only visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave SE. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 1,2019 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, at 1:00 PM. Friends may meet with the family an hour prior to services at 12:00 PM.
