Charles Ervin Townsend, age 51, was born August 9, 1967 to William and Nina Townsend in Tutwiler, Mississippi.

Charles departed this life on September 19, 2018 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory 2 sons; Chuck Townsend and Cage Townsend, 2 daughters; Amber Townsend and Takina Townsend, 4 borthers; Willie Townsend (Cynthia), John Townsend (Tanya), Anthony Townsend and Brian Townsend, 2 sisters; Martha White (Michael) and Marilyn Barnwell (Jerry), 3 grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave SE, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 28, 2018 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, at 12:00 Noon. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to services at 11:00 AM.
