Roy Jermall Brooks, age 44, was born August 14, 1973 in Detroit, Michigan to Roy Lee Riggins and Julieanna Brooks.

Roy departed this life on May 3, 2018 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was preceded in death by his mother; Julieanna Brooks and 1 brother; Brandon Ellis. He leaves to cherish his memory his father; Roy Lee Riggins, 1 daughter; Tyra Brooks, 1 brother; Shawn Adams, 4 sisters; Decheisa Brooks, Etiol Nelson, DeAndra Brooks and Latonya Adams, 2 grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Public visitation will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Avenue SE. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 12, 2018 at One Church Empowerment Center, 3075 30th Street SW, Grandville, MI, at 11:00 AM. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to servives at 10:00 AM.
