Mona was born in Chicago, IL to Norman Lee and Katherine Buchanan on January 9, 1950.

She was preceded in death by her father; Norman Lee, sisters; Patricia Thompson, Yvonne Hinton and brother; Donald Lee.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband; Gary Parker, son and daughter in-law; Aaron and Crystal Parker, mother; Katherine Buchanan, sister; Suzane Beards, brothers; Pat Lee of Florida, Allen Lee of Grand Rapids, Ronald Buchanan of Atlanta. GA. Kelvin Buchanan of Toronto, Canada, William Lee of Washington, DC, Steven Buchanan of Grand Rapids, MI, brother in-law Donald Thompson of Chicago, IL, brother and sister in-law; Che’ and Winsome Parker of Battle Creek, MI, Uncle; Eugene Rencher and Jay Liggins, cousins; Pattie Earles and Javette Harvey and a host of nieces and nephews, best friends; Kathy Bracey, Charlene Letts, Geneva Matthews, Gerry Jack and Larry Donston.
Public visitation will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave SE, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, 513 Henry St. SE, at 11:00 AM. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to services at 10:00 AM.
