Joseph Polk, age 54, was born September 23, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois to Lucille Polk.

Joseph departed this life on January 20, 2018 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was preceded in death by his mother and three brothers; Kinley Polk, Lonnie Alexander and Edward Echols.

He leaves to cherish his memory 3 brothers; John Stovall, Robert Echols and Walter Echols, 3 sisters; Marie Mikel, Muzzette Atwater and Josie Norwood and a host other family and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave. SE, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at True Light Baptist Church, 900 Thomas St. SE, at 12:00 noon. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to services at 11:00 AM.
