Pedro Jesus Mateo, age 83, was born January 31, 1934 to Jesus and Angelina Mateo in Salinas, Puerto Rico.

Pedro departed this life on January 12, 2018 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons; Pedro L. Mateo, Patrick Mateo, Osvaldo (Vinagarcia) Mateo, Jesus (Maria) Mateo and Leonardo (Tabitha) Mateo, daughters; Olga Mateo (Eric), Elsa Mateo (Victor Miranda) and Vanessa Mateo, brother; Jesus Vega, sisters; Carmen Espada, Andrea Mateo, Rosie Mateo, Vanessa Mateo, Maria Mateo, Gina Mateo, Maria Vega and Juanita Berrios, 29 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave SE, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
