Norma Jean Carter, age 57. was born April 21, 1960 in Chicago, IL to Eugene and Irene Carter.

Norma departed this life on October 3, 2017 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers in-law; Wesley Hutchins and Clarence.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters; Shantay Carter, Dominque Carter, Latorya Twiggs and Tashika Twiggs, brothers; Sherman (Ramona) Carter, Gregory (Linda) Carter, Donald Carter, Terrell (Felicia) Carter and Cedric Baker, sisters; Shirley Carter, Rose Hutchins, Joyce Carter, Annie (Lee) Boyd and Raquel Baker, 8 grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Ivy K Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave. SE, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Acts Gospel, 950 12th St., at 12:00 pm. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to services at 11:00 AM.
