Vallie Mae Manning, age 80, was born March 15, 1937 to Jessie and Margaret Heard in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Vallie departed this life on August 26, 2017 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was preceded in death by parents, her husband; Lee Manning, 1 son; Thomas Manning 1 sister; Reanie Davison and 1 great grandchild.

She leaves to cherish her memory 4 sons; Lee Manning, Jr., Larry Manning, Michael Manning and William Manning, 1 daughter; Charlotte (Eduardo) Beckford, 1 brother; Jessie Heard, Jr., 31 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Ivy K Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave. SE, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 60 Dennis, at 11:00 AM. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to services at 10:00 AM.
