Asonte DeShawn Koppenhofer-Smart, age 21, was born April 22, 1996 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Celeste Koppenhofer, Arthur D. Smart, Sr. and Andre Asberry.

Asonte departed this life on August 11, 2017 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and leaves to cherish his memory his parents; Celeste Koppenhofer, Arthur D. Smart, Sr.and Andre Asberry, 1 son; Kaden, 1 daughter; Lauryn, 6 brothers; Andre Collins, Arthur D. Smart, Jr., Josiah Johnson, DeAndre Asberry, Leondre Asberry and Anthony Asberry, 3 sisters; Terri Land, Tanaysha Smart and Andrasia Asberry, and a host of other family and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Ivy K Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave SE, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August 18, 2017 at Lamb of God Church, 57 Rena SW, at 11:00 AM. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to services at 10:00 AM.
