Obituary for Octavio Lopez

Octavio Lopez, 56, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 7th in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania while working out of town.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI. The family will begin to receive guests at 2:30 p.m. with Service beginning at 3:00 p.m., Pastor Walter-Ray Hudson officiating.

Octavio was born in Alice, Texas to Guadalupe and Viola Lopez on December 31, 1960. He married Norma (Munoz) Lopez on December 12, 1981 in Shelby, Michigan. Octavio worked as a Roofing Inspector for StructureTec where he was awarded a number of Accolade awards. His trade and professional passion was spent in the roofing industry for 37 years.

Octavio is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe Lopez, Viola Lopez, Humberto Munoz (father-in-law), Faustina Lopez (sister) and Guadalupe Lopez, Jr. (brother), Robert Rangel (brother-in-law).

Octavio is survived by his wife Norma of 36 years, sons: Marquez and Guadalupe “Lupe” Lopez, mother-in-law: Paula M. Munoz, brothers and sisters: Aide Benavidez, Melba (Flavio) Garcia, Melida (Robert) K. Rangel, Oscar Lopez, Luvy (Alejandro) Martinez, Eddie Lopez, Annabell Lopez, Fernando (Cindy) Lopez, Norma Jean (Jay) Hernandez, Venessa Lopez. Grandchildren: Alana Mieeyah Lopez, Azjieona Marie Lopez, Ahmani Michelle Jones, Guadalupe Humberto, “Junito” Rosario-Lopez Jr., Roxie Rosario-Kavetsky.
