Lucinda Alexander, age 83, was born May 6, 1933 to Burley and Martha Hill in Ponotoc, Mississippi.

Lucinda departed this life on January 1, 2017 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was preceded in death by her parents; Burley and Martha Hill, her husband; James Arthur Alexander, her daughter; Shirley Junior, her brothers; Samuel, Leonard and David and her sisters; Georgia, Betty, Mildred, Clorine, Louise and Christina.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Lucille Peterson, Dorothy Robinson and Rasheedah Abdulluah "Margie" and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel, 1865 Eastern Ave. SE, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Ivy K. Gillespie Memorial Chapel at 1:00 PM. Friends may meet with the family one hour prior to services at 12:00 noon.
